Award Winning Y2K MTT Superbike – The First Street-Legal Jet Engine Powered Motorcycle

After developing the first turbine-powered outboard engine sanctioned by the US military, Marine Turbine Technologies (MTT) in 1999 produced the world’s most powerful production motorcycle.
The Y2K became the first street-legal turbine-powered motorcycle.
In 2004 Guinness World Records recognized the Y2K as the most powerful production motorcycle and the most expensive production motorcycle ever with a price tag of $US184,000.
“It’s like the hand of god pushin’ you,” MTT founder and CEO Ted McIntyre.
It is powered by a Rolls-Royce Allison 250-C18 gas turbine engine, producing a claimed 320bhp at 52,000rpm with a top speed of 227 MPH. “It’s like the hand of god pushin’ you,” said MTT founder and CEO Ted McIntyre.
The engines utilized in the motorcycles are second-hand helicopter units after reaching the original manufacturer’s running time limit. MTT rebuilds the engines and installs them upside down on the bike’s aluminum alloy frame to allow the exhaust to exit downwards. Keeping the bike on the road and not ‘airborne’.
Each unique bike is hand made to order after receiving the buyer’s specifications and offer a fuel option of diesel, kerosene or Jet A combustible. Apart from the brake callipers and the front fork, the Y2K is entirely American-made, with most parts manufactured in-house.
Th orange Y2K pictured below raced and beat a Russian L34 jet fighter from a standing start. The jet fighter had a three-second head start but was overtaken by the bike which accelerated from a standing start to 217mph [350km/h] in 14 seconds.

The MTT Street Fighter
In 2006, MTT released the Street Fighter, equipped with a 420 HP turbine motor that produces 500 ft/lbs of torque. Other upgrades from the Y2K include a more giant swing arm, increased fuel capacity and an enhanced cooling system.
Two New Models
In 2015, MTT released two new models, a three-wheeler powered by the MTT 420 HP turbine engine. The trike incorporates the latest technology and enhanced safety features.
The second new addition is the 420-RR (race-ready). The 420-RR is the most potent motorcycle produced by MTT, focusing on aerodynamics and race-ready technology.
The Y2K comes equipped with a forward and rear-seeking radar detector, including a laser scrambler. More Info: Y2K MTT (Marine Turbine Technologies)
