Joey – The Man Who Conquered the TT, is a documentary film released in 2013 which focuses on Joey’s racing career.
William Joseph (Joey) Dunlop, from Ballymoney in Northern Ireland is one of the finest world champion motorcyclist road racers the world has ever seen. In 2005 Motorcycle News named him the fifth greatest motorcycling icon ever by. His achievements include three hat-tricks at the Isle of Man TT in the various classes in 1985, 1988 and 2000. He won the checkered flag at the TT a record 26 races in total and the Ulster Grand Prix 24 times.
Dunlop was viewed as a true working class hero, which endeared him to fans of motorcycling across the world. In 1986 He was awarded the MBE – Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – for his services to the sport, and in 1996 the OBE –Order of the British Empire– for his humanitarian work. Joey Dunlop helped orphans in Balkans, by delivering a van loaded with supplies to orphanages in Romania, Albania and Bosnia-Hercegovina before the start of the annual racing season.
