Lossa Engineering Custom Motorcycles

 
Jay LaRossa founder of Lossa Engineering, grew up and lived in Southern California with both sides of his family owning motorcycle dealerships. Spending his childhood around motor veichles led Jay in 1998 to quit his day job and start to build Trucks and Hot Rods full time. For 10 years he built numerous magazine cover vehicles, Sema vehicles, show trucks and customs here in the US and several that were exported to Japan. Jay LaRossa’s builds have been featured in just about every truck and car magazine including several Japanese magazines.

“I was obviously always around bitchen bikes and I started to ache for another one of my own.”

In 2002 he closed his shop and turned it into a mail order performance parts business. At that time he also went to work for a famous bike builder, to build and work on his personal car collection. After moving on from the famous bike builder, Jay picked up a Ducati Monster then a ’77 CB550 Honda. By the time he finished building my first Honda Cafe bike I had built up a collection of over 10 vintage Honda’s from the 60′s & 70′s.

Jay welds, fabricates sheet metal, machine parts, paints, upholsters, rebuilds and hot rod motors and basically create anything from scratch. The only part of Lossa Engineering bike builds which are not done in house is the powder coating, chroming, zinc plating and polishing, these tasks are handed off to the best in the business. As a result the bikes are made in the tradition of the original racers by striping off all the bullshit and making them perform better and faster! As Jay puts it, “I have only just begun to scratch the surface, once I get all these ideas out of my head, people will either be amazed or think I’m insane.”

Lossa Engineering motorcycles are truly custom, one off pieces. They don’t take shortcuts and don’t settle for anything less than perfection. Lossa Engineering is a Custom motorcycle manufacturer based in Long Beach, California. Founded in 2007, by Jay LaRossa, it specializes in café racers based on Japanese, Italian and British bikes from the 1960s and 1970s.
