Maria Riding Company’s Road Runner, a sublime vintage Ducati Racer

Maria Riding Company gives birth to a sublime gold, white and petrol blue Ducati vintage racer.

There are moments when particles seen to a-line as if by mystical intervention to create a sum whose parts are greater than the whole.

With the custom Road Runner Ducati Pantah the mystical intervention was provided by Maria Riding Company from Lisbon.

When the client brought the bike to MRC, it wasn’t much more than a frame, wheels, and engine with most of the Pantah’s original parts missing. The client’s passion for vintage race bikes, provided MRC with the theme for the project.

MRC’s crew decided to ship the engine to Paul Klatkiewicz, owner of Ducati Technical Services, one of Europe’s leading Ducati specialists.

For the last 40 years Klatkiewicz specialized in preservation and building of classic road, and race Ducati´s. His machines are known to be fast, light and reliable. They have won regularly awards at various motorcycle shows and have set lap records at multiple circuits.

Two months later the engine was returned completely refurbished. Klatkiewicz had polished the engine covers and the Pantah had now a 0km engine with full 600cc up fromt he original 500.

MRC maintained the vintage thin racer tires, hand built the stainless steal exhaust capped with a Spark muffler.

The bikes frame was powder coated pure white and accompanied by a custom single piece fiberglass tail with a leather seat.

A fiber glass fairing was cut for fit and style. The asymmetrical hole for the headlight and the fairing support was hand-made.

The complete braking system was overhauled, the carbs were retuned to use new conic air filters and a Motogadget speedo was installed. The custom tank from TAB II Classics was secured to the frame by a leather belt.
