Police Impound Motorcycle After Uninsured & Unlicensed Rider Was Caught Speeding – The Motorcyclist Was Fined $1,357

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced they recently fined an uninsured, unlicensed, speeding motorcyclist $1,357 and impounded his motorcycle.
“Spring is in the air, roads are bare, but motorists are reminded that RCMP are patrolling for dangerous drivers,” tweeted the RCMP.
RCMP officers stationed on Highway 97C in the Canadian province of British Columbia clocked the motorcycle speed at 207 km an hour, 100 km over the speed limit.
Once police pulled the rider over, they discovered he didn’t have insurance and a valid motorcycle driving license.
The patrol officers then issued the motorist three fines; $483 speeding, $598 riding without insurance and $276 riding a motorcycle without the proper license.
Under the BC Motor Vehicle Act, excessive speed fines are accompanied by a mandatory minimum 7-day impound.
